Otokar has won a tender for 304 buses to serve the population of Izmir
Otokar wins a contract for 304 buses for the Metropolitan Municipality of Izmir, one of Turkey's largest municipalities.
Otokar won the tender, which is worth around TL 476 million and includes the delivery of 304 buses to İzmir transport company ESHOT as well as the provision of after-sales services for five years. The tender contract was signed on 18 August 2020.
Delivery of the new fleet to the city of Izmir, which occupies a strong position as one of the best cities in the world to live in, will begin this year. Otokar will deliver 170 KENT C, 134 KENT articulated buses in batches in 2020 and 2021.
The KENT buses, which reflect Otokar’s innovative approach to public transport with a modern design and superior technical specifications, are also among the most popular public transport vehicles in Europe. The number of Otokar buses serving the city of Izmir since 2009 will exceed 700 with the new order.
